4 Canceled Shows to Watch
Wonderfalls made Parade Magazine’s list of 4 Canceled Shows to Watch on DVD ! Here’s what they say:
Wonderfalls is a quirky little series from Pushing Daisies creator Bryan Fuller that aired on Fox for just four weeks back in 2004. It centers around 24-year-old Jaye Tyler (Caroline Dhavernas), a cynical, underachieving Brown graduate who works at a Niagara Falls gift shop, lives in a trailer, and reluctantly engages in conversation with various animal figurines and statues: a wax lion, a wind-up penguin, a plastic flamingo, etc. Basically, if it’s fake and it has a face, it talks to her. And not just about anything. The muses, as they’re called, give Jaye enigmatic instructions that seem at first to cause problems but ultimately help people who may not have even realized they needed help—including Jaye herself. It sounds ridiculous, I know. And it is, a little. But it’s also incredibly sweet and engaging. If you can suspend your disbelief long enough to watch an episode or two, you’ll see what I mean.
